Hello Again.....

Things have been more hectic than usual around the store since the end of October. A lot has been going on (for more of an explanation see the end of this post). We have been very busy taking in new products almost weekly.

More Silhouette CAMEO's are arriving..... We sold the initial 15 Cameo's within the first 2 weeks and we received 12 more and sold those rather quickly as well. We have 10 more arriving around the 15th of January. Hurry in or call and reserve yours today, they are going fast. We still have 2 Silhouette SD's in stock for $249 but I don't expect these to last long either.

We have another Silhouette Class scheduled with Wanda for Saturday, January 21 at 6:30 pm, $10 fee. She will be reviewing the Silhouette SD and Cameo and teaching from Beginner to Advanced steps with each. I will give a brief demonstration with the vinyl and print-n-cut. If you have a Silhouette or you are thinking of purchasing one, please come to this class. I promise you will leave with at least one tip you didn't know.
We had a GREAT class with Angela and Jamie from Basically Bare and have a good supply of products in the store that you will love. Basically Bare products are alterable, which means they can be customized by you to meet the artistic needs of your current project. Each pack of {Basically Embellies} comes in a variety of fun materials, including:

We have a terrific class set up for Saturday, January 14th with Sabrina from the Collins Group. Many of you may remember her coming to demo the Luminarte products from Creative Imaginations. This time she will be showing us how to use the Microfine Glitter Glitz from Elizabeth Crafts. This stuff is amazing. If you know anything about me, you know I dislike glitter because of the mess it leaves behind and it is constantly falling off your project, not this. This feels like velvet after it is applied and will stay in place, no more worries. And, you are going to go gaga over all of the color choices. There is also a glitter clean up cloth that you have to try. I am so excited about this product. We have already had to place a reorder 3 times and we haven't even "officially" demo'd it yet. Schedule your spot for the 10:30 or 3:30 class on the 14th of January and get a hands on feel for glitter. The cost of the class is only $10 and you will make 4 card fronts using the glitter, shimmer sheets and more. I promise it will make you re-think your use of glitter.

Don't forget you still have a little time to sign up for the Basic Grey Page of the Month Class for 2012. The new class with start in March. This class is always the 4th Sunday of the month at 2:30 pm, unless there is a holiday conflict. You have until January 24th to get your name on the list to receive the kit. Unless there is a price increase that I have not been made aware of yet, class kits will remain $20 per kit.

We've moved our Card Classes from Tuesday evenings to Sundays to hopefully accommodate more people with scheduling conflicts through the week. Card classes are $12 for 5 cards, inside and out and includes envelopes. I hope you will decide to join us and get stocked up on those cards you always need but never have.

For those interested on more of a personal update, here goes: Denise is still hanging in there. She was finally diagnosed with Stage 4 Breast Cancer after going through two months of testing and being told several different diagnosis. The cancer has already spread to her lymph nodes, bladder and bones. She has begun Chemo treatments once a week at Vanderbilt Hospital. They told her it would be 8 to 12 weeks and she could expect to start seeing hair lose. She was by a few minutes earlier and unfortunately it has already started at week 3. But Denise is taking it in stride trying to determine if she wants to be a blond or firary redhead. Her oldest daughter Alecia had a beautiful baby girl, Zoey Elyse Powers, on November 22nd for which I got the honor of being a part of. Denise called me on Monday morning and ask if I could do her a favor, she had been admitted that very morning to a different hospital than Alecia and couldn't be there for her. Would I "mind" stepping in for her was her request. I so enjoyed helping Denise out and being there with Alecia and her younger sister Tina and will always have a special place in my heart for little Zoey. We've missed having Denise around the store but enjoy her impromptu visits when she feels up to it.

With Denise being gone from the store we have found the perfect person to step in. It was definitely fate that brought Lois to us. She happened in on two very "special" days that made her aware we were in need of help. She found out we were hiring and quickly emailed me here resume. After speaking to her on the phone and setting up a meeting I felt in my heart that she was going to be the answer to a prayer. We met with Lois and spoke with her and decided to offer her the position on the spot and have her start right away. She began training with Jessi and myself and within a week was left on her own. She has been a blessing and fits right in to our little Precious Scraps family. I hope that if you are in the area you have a chance to stop in and say hello to her and welcome her to the store. Lois is married and is a mother and grandmother. She has the most gorgeous grandson's that you will definitely be spotting in some of the samples around the store very soon. She is from Indiana but has been living in Clarksville for a brief time. She and her husband Ernie will be moving to Stewart County before long as they begin building a home on their land in the Indian Mound area.

I have decided to finally take that leap of faith and step away from my full time position at the dental office and only work part time there so I could devote more time to my family and to the store. I am looking forward to only working 2 days at the office and having two complete days off from the office and the store. Well, almost; until things get caught up at the store I will be spending my spare time there. There have always been things that I've wanted to change about the store, such as the organization, more blog updates and newsletters. I will be devoting more time to these projects over the next few months and hopefully will in turn make more time for family in the process. As many of you know, we started a home renovation project back in July and have complete finished all the projects but I still have several boxes to unpack and have to re-organize my home crafting space since this became the "kitchen/storage room" during the reno. I hope to post some pictures of the before and after very soon. I hope as well to be able to spend more time with my husband Larry who has been a trooper through the building and growth of the store. We have sacrificed all of our spare time to the store and hope to carve out a little time for us this summer for a short vacation, the first since the beginning of Precious Scraps.

As you can see the past couple of months have been very full and I truly appreciate your patience during this transition time and apologize for my lack of post and communication with everyone. I have new goals set forth for the new year and look forward to checking each one off my list as they change from resolution to reality. Again thank you for your support and friendship over the past year and I look forward to new and brighter things to come. Beverly

Silhouette CAMEO is here! 15 Cameo's were waiting just inside my back door when I came in Monday evening. It was like Santa Clause had arrived early....I wasn't, just Richard our UPS Delivery guy. I have had so much fun playing with the new version of the silhouette, I can't stop myself. This new edition has a wider 12" cutting area, is quieter, and has a new blade system as well as much more. I love being able to cut my own die cut designs out of scrapbook paper of my choosing, and border options are endless. We have already sold over 1/2 of our initial shipment. Hurry in and get yours before they are gone or give us a call and we will be happy to reserve yours with a credit card account.

Yes, that's right. For all of you who keep up with the latest and greatest from Tim Holtz and Ranger, we still have a few sets of this limited edition Fall Series set of Distress Inks from Tim. This will not be released again, once this last production is all sold out, there will be no more. We will be receiving the limited Winter Series as well. Be sure to call and reserve your set today. These are even limited to Retail stores.

This is a class you don't want to miss. Coming Saturday, November 4 at 4:00 pm is Basically Bare. An instructor from Basically Bare will be here to teach a class creating this beautiful album using Graphic 45 papers. This album has everything from corrugated cardboard, chipboard, acrylic, and canvas. To sign up be sure to call the store right away, class registration is limited to 30. Basically Bare will also be having a Trunk Show while here, so any of their products that you absolutely love and can't live without (which for me is all of them) you will have the opportunity to purchase from them. We have recently restocked out Luminarte Line, Radiant Rain, Daubers and H2O's, from Creative Imaginations. We are now carrying Tattered Angels Glitter Glaze and Glitter Glam. These products are so much fun to play with, you just HAVE to stop in and join us for some fun. We love showing customers how to use these latest additions to the store. We now have "Devine Twine" by the yard and the colors are endless.

New stamps are arriving Weekly from your favorite companies, Hero Arts, Heartfelt Creations, Memory Box, Tim Holtz, Darice, My Favorite Things, Penny Black and Impression Obsession and much more.

Wait until you see the new glitter and peel offs coming from Elizabeth Craft, you will flip. We are planning a workshop with Sabrina in January to showcase these products. It's one of those "you have to see it, to believe it" products. It is NOT just your ordinary glitter.

New Sizzix dies, and Die/Stamp combinations are here and still arriving. We are receiving Spellbinds as they are released as well as new Cuttlebug Embossing Folders.

We're Back....

Thank you to everyone for your kind thoughts and comforting words during the hospitalization and passing of my sister-in-law. We continue to pray for my brother and his daughters for peace and understanding.

With illnesses and life in general I have been absent from the blog for way too long. Larry and I have finally finished the renovations on our home. What started out as simply replacing the carpet with hardwood floors turned into a complete house reno. We completely gutted the kitchen and both bathrooms, replaced all light fixtures, painted the entire house and much much more. I hope to show photos soon. I am waiting for my son Kyle to come home and see it first before I spoil the suprise. We live very simply but our house is our HOME and we are very proud of it.

Now on to greater things. We recently returned from the CHA (Craft and Hobby Association) Trade Show. We were lucky enough to be able to participate in some amazing workshops and events. There was not much time to site see or even relax, four days of nonstop action. We got to meet some amazing people in the industry and speak with other retail store owners and enjoy a special dinner at Harry Carey's with our great hostess, Kristen from Notions Marketing. CROP FOR A CURE at Precious Scraps has been canceled for Saturday May 21st and will be rescheduled for June or July. Watch the blog for a updated schedule. There is so much activity going on right now with graduation, school activities, ballgames, etc that we feel we would have a better turn out during the summer. I hope that everyone will watch for the rescheduled time and call and sign up for this important event. This is a fund raiser for Ashlee Nemeth, a local young mother who is undergoing treatment for cancer.

Off the couch and ready to go....

Sorry for the delay in undating this blog and schedule this month. This is my first day off the couch in a while. Last week on Tuesday I started feeling like I had a sinus infection going coming on and tried to treat it with over the counter medications and such. Needless to say, that didn't work by Sunday evening I was flat on my back on the couch. I had no voice, couldn't hear anything and absolutely no energy. Went to the Doctor Monday morning and got an injection of steriods. I tried to work Tuesday but that didn't go so well and back on the couch I went until today. I had to get more meds yesterday and today I am finally starting to feel a little bit of life creep back in.

Be sure to check out April and May's schedule to the left in the side bar. We have as lot of exciting things going on. We have an Advanced Silhouette Class, Copic Class, National Scrapbook Day, A Scrapbook Yard Sale and much more over the next two months.

First things first...... SEW EASY hand tools are back on stock !!

If you have not treied the Sew Easy from We Are Memory Keepers you have to stop in and give it a spin. I looks great on your scrapbook pages, cards, accent pieces and more. It makes hand sewing SEW easy ! We will have a full line of new piercing wheels available soon. I cannot wait to get my hands on the vine stitch. Until then come in and try out some of the other available piercing wheels, the possibilities are endless.

Speaking of We Are Memory Keepers we have our more recent line Tres Elegant avaialble. This is a beautiful Spring Wedding line. It would also be just as for Easter. Don't forget we also have PEEP from WRMK if you want the more traditional bright and fun papers and accents for your pages. I have truly enjoyed working with the WRMK papers and kits each month. I love how simple it is to coordinate your pages and the 6x6 blocks included in the lines are great for small books or cards. The ideas just keep coming every time I pick up a piece of their paper. The PEEP paper line is simply adorable for the kids Egg Hunt photos. I love the bright colors along with the tiny rabbits and chicks. Stop in and take a peep...I mean peek...LOL.

We just received our latest shipment from Echo Park which has some great Spring and Summer papers to scrap those wonderful pictures of the kids.

I am having so much fun with Echo Parks lastest releases. You have to plan a trip to stop in and see the in person and let your imaginatuion run wild.

Now lets talk a little about some of the exciting events happening in the next couple of months.

We have oour second Silhouette Class coming up on Tuesday, April 26th at 6:30. If you missed the first class you certainly don't want to miss this one. We will be going over intermedate to advanced techniques that will help bring your designs to life. If you have your program on your laptaop feel free to bring it. Be sure to call and sign up for this class.

We are now taking items for our SCRAPBOOK YARDSALE. You can stop in and register to sell your gently loved items in our yardsale. We will be accepting items until May 10th and the Yard Sale will be Saturday, May 14th. Even if you don't want to part with any of your items be sure to stop by the yard sale for some great bargans. Call the store for details on registering as a seller.

We will be having a COPIC class on Sunday, May 15th. This is a class we have had so many request for. Be sure to not miss this one. We will also be having a Crop for a Cure on May (the 21st) for a local community member Ashlee Nemeth. More details on the crop will be coming soon.

Let's not forget National Scrapbook Day!!! May7th is National Scrapbook Day at Precious Scraps and around the world. We have a special day planned for all participants. We will have special Crop Time with a couple of predesigned pages, a project or two, lots of prizes and give aways and plenty of food. The fee is $30 and will run from 10:00 am to 8 pm. Hope you can join us. Please call the store to reserve your spot today!

Beginners Silhouette Class this Thursday at

6:30 pm at Precious Scraps.

You don't want to miss this class. If you own or are considering purchasing a Slihouette Die Cut Machine you need to attend this class. Wanda will be teaching a beginners to intermediate class with hands on demonstrations. We plain to follow up with another class for Intermediate to Advanced in April or May. The class fee is $10 and you haven't yet purchased a Silhouette do so after class and your class fee is waived. We are running a special on the machines Regularly $299 for $249 until the end of March. Hurry in and get yours!

2011 Basic Grey Page of the Month

Don't forget if you signed up for the new Basic Grey Page of the Month out first class will be meeting Sunday, March the 27th at 2:30 pm. WOW! Finally finished with Inventory, what a relief. Counting every single piece of paper, embellishment, yard of trim, etc has been a task. Thank you to Wanda, Denise, Tammey, and Susie for helping, I could not have done it without you. Now that inventory is finished I can tell you about all the amazing additions to the store.

Echo Park is a new line to the store that is one of my favorites. We currently have 3 of their lines, Little Boy, Little Girl and Wintertime. You have to come in to see these papers, the pictures just do not do justice.

Happy New Year.....Almost

Hey everyone, Happy New Year. I want to thank everyone for a great year at Precious Scraps. The business continues to grow and prosper but more importantly my friendships continue to grow. I so enjoy getting to meet everyone and chat when you come in. I am a "people" person and love having the opportunity to talk with customers from all over as well as locally. I want to again, thank you for your support and encouragement as the business continues to grow.

Don't forget we will be having an all night crop tonight to ring in the new year. We will get started around 5 pm and stop when the last person leaves. The admission is a snack. Since I will be up all night the store will be closed tomorrow so I can get a little rest and then start inventory.

I had previously mentioned that we might start closing on Sunday's but for right now we will remain open so be sure to stop in.

As I mentioned, I will be doing inventory over the weekend so that means BIG SALES next week. We need to clear out in order to make room for new merchandise arriving in February from the CHA show. If you happen to see a line that you are interested in seeing us carry be sure to let me know.

We are receiving monthly shipment from We Are Memory Keepers so be sure to stop in and see the new Winter, Valentine and Family lines that will be put out next week.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.......

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I spent the day with my family which was terrific. With everyone's busy lifestyles it is so difficult to get everyone together at once. Thank goodness for Holiday's. Here is a pic of our family along with the new additions of step-siblings, and the exclusion of my oldest brother and his family (they were in St. Louis for the Holidays. My mom remarried April of 2009 after my father passed in 2000. She met a wonderful man named Ron and it has been such a pleasure getting to know his children. It was truly a Thankful time to be together.

Over Larry's Fall Break he worked on a flower bed for me at the store. He enclosed our sign so we could add lighting as well as some beautiful flowers (in the Spring). I love the way it turned out and it really lights the way for everyone to find the store in the evenings. I can't wait to plant some beautiful petunias in the spring to spill over the sides. These photos were taken just before it's completion but I think you get the idea. Thank you Larry, you are the best!

We R Memory Keepers is in the house!!

When we attended CHA this past July I had my eye on We R Memory Keepers. I had seen their product (I have always carried some of their tools, but I am talking papers, etc) and wanted to check it out up close and personal, to touch it, you know what I am talking about LOL. I fell in love at first sight. I HAD to have it! So we are know members of the We R Memory Keepers automatic shipment club. What this means is that every month we will receive a new line from them. We currently have three lines in. The lines are composed of Embossed papers, Sewn paper (the prettiest I have ever seen), double-sided pattern paper, embossed tags, chipboard stickers and titles, embossed stickers, brads, stamps, 4x6 journaling tags, collection kits, card kits, paper stacks, coordinating cardstock stacks and double-page layouts already completed, just waiting for your pictures. New Items in the store...Just in time for the Holidays!

Look at all of this new merchandise for the store. It is amazing all of the Fall, Holloween and Christmas paper and embellishment we have. You HAVE to stop in and check it out. We also have received a new Core'dinations line that is so stunning....seeing is believing. We have numerous other new lines fron Upsy Daisey, October Afternoon, Grandma's Attic, Sassafrass Lass and much much more. We have a lot of new tools and embellishment, new dies and embossing folders, flower soft has been completely restocked with the new silver and gold on the way. It is way too much to try to tell you about. You just HAVE to come by.

We are back from Chicago and have so much to share. I will be posting pictures as we receive shipments.....it's a LOT ! We shopped until we dropped. Denise, Wanda, Elaine and myself had an awesome time in Chicago and truly enjoyed all the new paper lines and tools coming out over the next few months. Bring all of your gently loved scrapbook items and sell them to purchase newer and exciting items. Call the store for additional information or stop in to sign up. We will start accepting merchandise on Friday, August 27th at the store. You will be required to package and price your own sale items. We will provide you with price tags. We will not accept items later than 5:00 pm on Friday, September 10th. All unsold items will have to be picked up no later that Friday, October 1st. any remaining items will be donated to a charity.

SEPTEMBER CLOSINGS: The store will be closed Friday, and Saturday September 17th and 18th. We will close at 2:00 on Thursday the 16th. We will be attending an out-of-town crop as vendors on Friday and Saturday. We will re-open our regular hours on Sunday September 19th. This means there will be no crop on Friday the 17th.

We are still working out a few glitches for our email newsletter but hope to have everything up and running very soon. Please continue to check the blog or our facebook page for updates until then. Edited to add: Thank you for all of your concerns and prayers following my previous post. I had a health scare (a mini stroke) but I am fine now. I debated on keeping this private but begin to think that there may be other people out there with some of my same issues. I am overweight, have high cholesterol, not exercise, don't eat healthy (fast food a lot) and a stressful lifestyle. Since my scare, I have begun to change my life. I eat healthier, no more 8-10 soda's a day. I don't "diet", I am changing the way I choose what I eat and how much of it I eat. This is for the rest of my life so "quick" diet fixes are not going to work. I exercise now, 30 minutes in the morning and evening. I feel so much better. I am taking medication to lower my cholesterol until I can get it down and then will control it with diet. I am on an aspirin regimen and most importantly, I try not to get stressed. As of today, I have lost 10 pounds over a month. I know that may not seem like a lot to some but to me it is a lot to be excited about. This will be a slow process, I have a long way to go and I may share more about my changing lifestyle along the way. My final thought to you is to enjoy your life, love those that are in it and appreciate each day and most importantly take time to take care of yourself.

Hey everyone....it's good to be back. Where have I been you ask.....no where in particular...just not here. I have been extremely busy. We purchased some merchandisers from a store closing and had to move all of that, as well as get it into my store. I have also had some health issues that have taken up a lot of my time lately. Nothing too bad or that can't be corrected but I am having to completely change my lifestyle. This is very time consuming and I can only ask for your patience and prayers while I am making these adjustments. We haven't been getting a lot of new things in at the store as I have been trying to wait until we go to the Trade Show in Chicago the last week of July. I want to save all of my money to get the NEW stuff so please again, bare with us. I cleaned up the back room last week and came across some pics of when we first opened and was amazed at how empty the store was. At the time I felt as is we had sufficient inventory but boy was I wrong. There is now not a square inch in the store that is not taken up. Over the next few weeks we will be running several specials to clear out some of the older lines to make room for the new ones so be sure to stop in often. I thought I would post some pics of the flower beds outside as well as the store and some of our recent projects just to update everyone on the changes we are going through. I hope you enjoy and again, please be patient with me as await the new merchandise from the show and as I make some adjustment in my personal life.

Our project this month for the Kids/Youth Class. They get to paint their birdhouses as well as cover them in paper as well as "shingle" the roof with paper from Bo Bunny (I will post pics post class)

This is just a small amount of the shrubs, flowers and rose bushes we've planted. I DO NOT have a green thumb but we have been blessed with very hardy plants and God's gift of watering so that I don't have to do anything but sit back and enjoy their beauty.

Updates and More...

OK, so here goes. I have been trying to find an hour or so to sit down and update my blog. I have come to the realization that "it ain't gonna happen". So, I have decided to post as I have time, with smaller post more often. I want to keep you updated on all the new items coming into the store as well as all the new exciting events going on.

TECH 101 -- We had our first TECH 101 class last month and it was a success. Everyone who came truly enjoyed the class and left with a ton of knowledge to further their creativity. Tonight is our next class, Flowers 101. Denise has been busy making flowers from everything she can get her hands on. I promise you this is going to be a great class. If you have not noticed the schedule to the left be sure to take a look and call and sign up for a class. These hands-on classes are great to further you experience with products and push them to their limit. Who knows, you may even go home with a project or two. Here is just a SMALL sampling of some of the flowers Denise has come up with for tonight.

New My My Minds Eye MeadowLark has arrived. Here is a layout I created using the MeadowLark Dawn. My Mind's Eye has been gracious enough to provide retailers with instruction for classes using this line. We will have a printout of one of the selected layouts available to our customers when you make a purchase with this line. No class sign up require. Here is my take on one of those layouts.

Last for tonight is a quick glance of some of the projects from National Scrapbook Day. We had a blast despite the terrible weather and territorial rains.

Here is a page scrap-lifted from Scrapbook Etc. Magazine. It utilizes several border punches. We carry all of these in the store. For those who have been waiting on the butterfly punch at the bottom, it should be in by first of next week. This is Jordan's prom photo when she stopped but the store. Jordan helps me out at the store and has become a sort of "daughter on loan" to me and Larry.

We have been having a blast at the store playing with tags, embossing and Ranger Distress Inks. Several people ask what do you do with the tags now. Here is a quick page I created with my great-nephew Trent's first day of school photos. I still need to add the journaling but you get the idea....

Finally.....plans have been made and the schedule is complete. National Scrapbook day is upon us. Saturday, May 1st we will be celebrating all day at Precious Scraps. For those that sign up the cost is $60 and is all inclusive for the following schedule.

Introducing...new classes, new lines and new hours

Precious Scraps is introducing a new lineup of classes called TECH 101. These classes will be held monthly and will feature a different techniques each month for only $10 per class. We will begin the first class on April 20 with Chipboard. You will discover over 20 ways to use and or alter chipboard. I am really looking forward to this new series and hope that those than can get to the store will. Please check the sidebar to the left for a listing of dates and topics under the heading of TECH 101.

I always want to take a minute to update you on some of the new merchandise coming in tomorrow. We will be adding more Fancy Pants to the store. The following lines are arriving and will be put out my the end of the week.

We also received more of Tim Holtz Distress Ink's new colors. Class samples are being prepared for April and are on display in the store. Stop in and check out all the new papers and classes. We will be giving you more opportunity to stop in and visit with our new store hours. Beginning May 11th, Precious Scraps will be open weekdays. The new hours will be as follows:

Plans are being finalized for National Scrapbook Day. We are going to have a blast on Saturday , May 1st at Precious Scraps. The day will be full of mini workshops featuring heat embossing, resist embossing, glass etching, candles, cards, scrap pages, air brushing with copics, crop time and more. We will break for lunch and you can go out or call in a pizza. There will be door prizes, contest and EVERYONE will receive a special gift bag from Precious Scraps. The price will be announced very soon so be sure to check back to the blog or check us out on Facebook at Precious Scraps. Be sure to mark your calendars to call and sign up. Space will be limited. Registration begins on Thursday April 1st. (Cost will be announced prior to opening registration)

Things have been hopping around Precious Scraps. We have been receiving boxes almost daily. We now have the new Lush line from My Minds Eye. It is stunning. I am having trouble deciding which one is my favorite color scheme. Check it out......

Is this not simply wonderful. The top two papers and the all the books are flocked. We are receiving the brads and rhinestone brads today (they are not in the photos above but you can get a peek below)

I am in the process of unpacking the Quite Contrary line from My Minds Eye as well so be sure to stop in and check it out. You can see a preview of it here. It will be out by the weekend.

I've also added a new line to the store, Paper Loft. I love the simplicity of this line and all the muted colors.

We've also added new Sports, Hunting, Fishing, Camping, Travel, 4-H, Carvival, Cooking, Cowboy, Four-Wheeling, and Muddin' papers. Here in Dover a lot of summer fun is enjoyed at the local Mud Bogs.

We have the some of the NEW colors from Tim Holtz distress ink pads from Ranger. We have Barn Door, Bundled Sage, Chipped Sapphire, Wild Honey, Stormy Sky, Crushed Olive, Forrest Moss, as well as adding a couple of old favorites, Spiced Marmalade and Mustard Seed. We've also restocked our embossing pads with several different brand options.

We've enlarged our scrapbook selections with more 12x12 Scrapbooks as well as 8x8 books. We have some beautifully embossed leather 12 x 12 albums in an array of colors. We also have added some Pre-Designed 8x8 Books for babies, mother, father, friend, and travel, all just waiting for you to simply add your photos. Here is a sample of the Friends Album:

We have also restocked our custom school papers for the Stewart County Area. We have ordered more Senior Year Albums. If you have not seen these you really should stop in and check them out. They make an excellent graduation gift and are custom designed with SCHS colors and Rebel papers. We will be adding Henry County to the selection this fall. If you would like for us to consider adding your are schools please contact us.

Our 2010 Graduation Papers and stickers are starting to arrive as well as our Easter selections. We have added a few "tools" to choose from as well such as chalk, flock, glitter and much more. We've also restocked our Kaiser Craft kits and have more coming in. We've added the packs of rings that accompany these projects. Here is a peek at one of the Easter sets we've received.

We have been busy outside of Precious Scraps as well. Larry and I went shopping at Lowe's on Friday after having our taxes done (we needed a little pick me up...). Anyway, they were having a great sale and we have a 70ft x 4 ft planter bed to fill up. We selected Firepower Nandina, Golden Euonymus, Sunny Knockout Roses, Dward Burford Holly, Gardinia (I know they probably will not make it here but I had to try, the scent is worth it), Fashion Orange Azalea, Crimson Red Azalea, Mountain Fire Pieris and Swarf Cavatine Pieris as well as 5 rose bushes, Oklahoma, Medallion Tea Rose, Kordes Perfecta, Sun Flare Floribunda, and Oregold Hybrid Tea Rose. I know, we have our work cut out for use. I also have some Hostas to transplant there until everything starts to fill in as well as planting some flowers with the weather gets a little warmer. Here are a few pictures for your enjoyment.

We have a total of 18 shrubs and 3 rose bushes in the planter and then we planted a yellow rose bush in each corner of the fence in the parking lot. I cannot wait to see all of these in bloom. I don't have a green thumb at all but my friend Denise does and she has agreed to look after the plants this summer while she is at the store. She will be opening the store during the weekdays beginning sometime after May 7th. We will post the days and hours as soon as they are available. Best Birthday Ever...

Thank you for all the beautiful birthday wishes today. I feel so blesses to have such wonderful friends. I had the best borthday ever. My friends at the store surprised me last night with cakes, cards, gifts and balloons. It was amazing. My wonderful son Kyle surprised me today by coming to my office and taking me to lunch. I was totally surprised and shocked. I cried for 20 minutes from pure excitement. I haven't seen him since Christmas and seeing him was all I could ever want.

Kyle is in college at NOSSI College of the Arts studying Photo Journalism and Graphic Arts. He takes some of the most amazing photos. If you want you can check out some of his work at A Shared Prospective.

To top off my day my mom cooked dinner for Larry and I and I was again surprised by some of the rest of my family being there. My sister Peggy made the cutest gift bag (I will have to take a picture to share) and my nephew and his wife were there with their son Trent. Trent presented me with a beautiful bunch of hand-picked buttercups and better yet a hand-written note. He is only in pre-K so I will frame and cherish this note forever. The girls at the dental office took me to lunch yesterday and my darling husband is taking me to lunch tomorrow. WOW, that is a lot of eating. This evening before leaving for dinner at my moms my neighbor and sister-in-law stopped by with cards and gifts as well. I feel so loved.

On the store front, We received 5 boxes today with 5 more coming first of the week and more at the end of next week. Our new Easter should be in the boxes from today and the New Lush Line as well as Quite Contrary from My Minds Eye will be arrive within the next few days. We have the new colors from Tim Holtz Distressed Inks coming in and oh so much more. I will try to update as we unpack things. It is like Christmas at Precious Scraps.

Flower Soft has been restocked as well. We also received the new Ultra Fine Flower Soft and a few new stamps and card fronts. Be sure to stop in and see all the new stuff. Here is a little teaser of the flower soft.

Well, after "partying like a rock star" as one of my dear friends put it (actually I don't really party but I did eat alot) I am exhausted. Cards, Pages and Updates

I hope you enjoyed your Valentine's day with those you love.

We've been having a great time here at Precious Scraps celebrating our ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY. I cannot believe it has been a year since we opened the doors. Sunday, February 21, 2010 we celebrated by giving away a Epic Six Machine from Quickutz to one lucky winner, Christa Blaine (she said to tell you how super excited she is). We had a great make-n-take using heat embossing. We even had a few refreshments for those who stopped in. I cannot begin to tell you what it means to me the love and support shown by my family, friends and customers during the past year. I could not have done it without you.

On to a few projects:

As many of you know my son Kyle is 21, and like many young men his age, he does like having me scrapbook him all the time. So, what's a girl to do? I borrow everyone else's children. I recently saw a picture on my friend Christy's photography website ( http://christysstudio.blogspot.com/ ) of Evie. Evie is one of two beautiful children of Tanya and Bobby. I could not resist and immediately called Tanya and begged her to let me scrapbook Evie. I love how this page turned out. (Be sure to check out other beautiful photographs of Evie and others on Christy's blog)

Here is another page for my "borrowing" someone else's child. This is Hayden. I know his family and love this photo that his grandmother took. It was begging to be placed on a page.

Here is a simple project I recently complete with items from Tim Holtz. I created the tag when I had a customer come in looking for antique tags for a project. I told her I didn't have anything but I had some white tags that she could easily make them appear vintage. After she left, with ink and tags in her bag, I sat and played with the sample tag and created this beautiful tag with stamps and embossing powder and a few embellishments.

I have enjoyed sitting down and playing with these tags so much. I created a few more that may be held over for National Scrapbook Day activities.

I want to begin by saying Thank You to everyone for your well wishes regarding the loss of our beloved pet Fred. Everyone's thoughtfulness is greatly appreciated. It amazing how little it takes for your pet to become a part of your family. We miss him as does our other dog Zeke. He still cries for him but it is getting a little better.

We have been busy in the store creating samples of some of the KaiserCraft Beyond the Page items we currently have in stock. These projects are so much fun. Thanks to Tammey, Denise, Jordan and Wanda for helping me create these beautiful samples. If you haven't had a chance to stop in the store and see them up close you really should try to do so.

March 18, 1995 - January 12, 2010

Fred Jr.

My beloved Fred died this morning. He was basset-beagle mix who was almost 15 years old. This just breaks my heart. He was the last of my dad's dogs and it feels like loosing a part of my dad all over again. He's been sick for about 2 weeks, not eating and very little activity We have been babying him like crazy...I even fixed him gravy and biscuits (his favorite) several times and he wouldn't eat that. We knew his time was near. He has been such a very special part of our family. My dad brought Fred and his sister over to us 15 years ago and asked Larry and I to watch them for a few weeks until he could find them a good home...yeah right. Miss Priss, his sister died about 8 years ago, just after my father passed away. I was consoled by having Fred after loosing my father...I still had a part of something important to him, a living reminder. Now Fred is gone. He was a par of out family for so long and we will miss him greatly. His friend Zeke is already missing him and looking everywhere for him. I know Zeke's heart is just as broken as ours.

Happy New Year everyone! Yes, I'm still here. The holidays have been so hectic. I actually did not do any Christmas shopping until the 23rd! YIKES, I was in a panic. I just simply had not had the time to do it before then. Lucky for me my list was short. The weekend before, the 18th, Larry and I took a quick trip up to Plymouth, Indiana to The Memory Zone Scrapbook store. They went out of business on the 15th after 9 years of business. I know it was difficult for the owners as well as the customers to see this store close. We bought a trailer load of paper racks and acrylic paper trays. We got to see the our first snow of the season while traveling north which was beautiful. They had about 2-3 inches on the ground by time we headed back. Larry and I laughed because that would have closed the schools and business here in Tennessee but up North life goes on.

After returning from Indiana we had several Christmas Parties to attend as well as getting ready for the holidays. My son, Kyle, got to come home for Christmas which was the only gift I needed. We spent a wonderful day with family and friends.

We had a wonderful Christmas and hope that you did as well. Oh, in case you are wondering...... Larry bought me a beautiful set of pearls, earrings and necklace, that I have been asking for for years. I have a set that belonged to my great-grandmother but the clasp is broken and I couldn't part with them to send them off for repair. My new set is beautiful and one that I hope to pass down one day to a grand-daughter. Kyle just laughed when I told him this..... Kyle bought me a gift card to Starbucks, YUM YUM.

We've been busy around the store lately. We finally installed our fence with the help of a family friend and my husbands cousin Mike.....thanks guys.

We hope to put the plants and shrubs in in March or April.

Larry also repaired and refinished an antique bench for the front porch of the store.

Larry had this bench long before we met and had been in the barn for years. I used to go to the loft when we were dating and see all the chickens roosting on it and wanted it so bad. I initially wanted it on my front porch at my house but it was too long. When we started the store, I insisted on having it on the front porch. The center leg was broken and had to be re-fabricated (thanks Jimmy) and the entire bench sanded down (thanks to the chickens) and stained. I think it turned out beautifully and sits so comfortable.

Here are a few of the projects from the store lately......

The calendar was made by my dear friend LaDonna. It is from K&Co. She wanted to somehow put cards with it for her mother to use when birthdays role around. I got out some chipboard and fashioned this box and covered it. It worked out well I thought. I hope her mother appreciated all the effort that LaDonna put into this gift.

My friend Faith took out beginners frame class and made this frame for her daughter Mary Frances. I think it turned out beautiful and Mary loved it. The Believe word book is from Bo Bunny and was taught in one of our altered medium classes. I hope that if you are local, you can stop in and join us for a class sometime.

Edit: To answer a couple of questions about the texture boutique: Yes, you can use other company folders in the machine, it does state that it voids the warranty if the machine breaks however with another company folder in use.... Also, you can use the texture folders from Sizzix in other machines. I have tried both processes and they work great.

I love this little machine, isn't it CUTE ?? This is the new Texture Boutique by Sizzix for those who love to emboss. This machine is made specifically for embossing. We also received several of the Embossing Folder Sets. The machine retails for $29.99 and the embossing folder sets are $10.99. I have already had the Halloween set out playing with a card layout. Hey ladies --- I am so overwhelmed right now that keeping up with the blog seems to be the last thing I have time for. I am so sorry for not posting on a regular basis. Since arriving back from CHA I have not stopped. We have been receiving boxes almost daily. This is GOOD since it seems like Christmas everyday I go to the store but on the flip side I have to find some where to put it all. Me and Kimberly Crawford at the Spellbinders Workshop at CHA. I was in the very front row in this workshop and the young lady leading the class was introducing the Spellbinder Team. I about came out of my seat when I heard Kimberly's name, I couldn't wait for class to end to go back and meet her. I have always admired her work as she is amazingly talented. She is the sweetest person to meet, genuinely a true kind soul. Thanks Kimberly for taking the time to speak with me and my hubby..

Updated pic of the store... we've added the planter to the side and the signs on the sides and front. We will plant shrubs and flowers in the spring, simply too much to contend with right now. We are also working on restoring an antique church pew to go on the front patio.

Photos from PTI Booth at CHA......

Hey Ladies.......I have 473 photos to post! I was so overwhelmed at my first CHA event I about had heart failure. And, they tell me this show was only about a fourth of what the show usually is. There was over 1700 exhibitors at the Trade Show and my DH and I stopped at every booth. The consumer show was awesome, well at least the PTI Booth was, that was the only one I went to. It was so crowded in that showroom. It took me quite some time to go through the PTI booth and after that and the previous trade show experience I was ready to head back to Tennessee, we were exhausted.

I will be back with Trade Show photos as well as some samples from workshops we took. I want to start out with the photos from the consumer portion of the show and the PTI gang. So hold one to your seats, here we go........

This one is for Niki. I told here I was going to look for traces of her at the show since she couldn't attend. Nichole had made this display up with a quote from the design team as well as a sample card from each person. I missed you Niki, you are definitely going next year!

I spotted Nichole the minute I walked in the door. She and Dawn was at the entrance to the PTI booth greeting everyone. I stood in line and listened to ladies talk about not ever having heard of PTI (I didn't know such people existed, lol)but it (PTI) must be good since there was such a long line and that "that lady" must be famous because everyone wanted the picture taken with her. I, of course, gave them a crash course in PTI, their products and Nichole. They said I "must be a major fan of PTI", to which I replied proudly the "I am!" These ladies proceeded into the booth in front of me as well and asked for suggestions along the way, needless to say, I think they spent more than intended since I insisted they "had to try" this or that.

Let me take a minute to say that I also got to me Julie and Jane, Co-Owners of PTI along with Nichole. Also, Nichole's husband (David) and I am assuming Julie's hubby (JD Haskemp, forgive me if I am wrong)worked very hard keeping the booth fully stocked. And my, oh my, what "eye candy". Forgive me Nichole and Julie, but it just had to be said. We women enjoyed the "stock boys" you had working. lol

I just love Dawn. She is so kind. She constantly had a smile on her face. She has the most amazing talent. I wish I had a tenth of it.

Just behind me in the booth was Julie Masse. When I ask if I could have my photo with her she said "Who ? Me?" She must not realize what a large fan base she has and that I admire her work as well as her obvious faith greatly. She was so friendly as we chatted throughout the booth.

CHA Photos.......delayed

Good Morning everyone. I have 217 pics from Tuesday at the CHA show and 192 from Wednesday and yesterday but cannot get them to load. The speed here at the hotel is horrible and my system times out before getting even 1 pic uploaded. We are off headed to the consumer show this morning (to the PTI booth) and then headed back to Tennessee. I will attempt to post pics Saturday evening from home. I know you are dying to see all the new merchndise from the show, it was AMAZING. I haven't ran into Nicole and the gang yet but I did get to see Kimberly Crawford in my Spellbinders Class. I will post a pic with the others, she is soooooo super sweet. We took some great workshops while here and have those projects to share as well. We also did some MAJOR ahopping for the store. I will let everyone know what is coming in as soon as I have time to sit down and list it all myself (lol). One that I can tell you about is Flower Soft. This is amazing prodect and so simple to use. It should be arriving in about 6 weeks. For those of you that come to the store I am going to take my laptop up there and let all the pics show on a slide show so that you can see them. If anyone can tell me how to do that and add it to my blog I will, I just don't know how, lol.

CHA and Orlando.......Here we are!

Day One........

Here we are in Orlando, Florida for the Summer CHA (Craft and Hobby Association) Show. All I can say is WOW ! First let me start out by defining "we". That would be myself and my husband, Larry. He has got to be the BEST husband in the world. I mean, how many of you can say your husband could be dragged to a CHA show and participate in the workshops much less volunteer to do so. I had a dear friend who was going to attend with me but for reasons beyond her control she was unable to so do (miss you K) so my husband agreed to come along so I wouldn't have to make the drive alone. Yes, I said drive, 12 hours! (I refuse to fly). Anyway, I had signed my friend and I up for several workshops that I thought I would have to miss half off since she couldn't attend. My DH said he would be happy to attend and get the kits and take notes for me, I didn't even have to ask. Isn't he great! We needed a vacation since we haven't had time to spend together since we started the store so this worked out great.

We started our day out by leaving Tennessee at 9:30 am on Sunday morning and arrived at 1:30am Orlando time. (We stopped several times to stretch our legs and grab a bite. I had a 8am class this morning as did Larry, but he decided to sleep in and skipped class. His class was with Piggy tales so I picked up his kit and will put it together later and show you. My class was with Clear Scraps. I loved this class and was able to experience so many first and try out some great products. I will be bringing this knowledge back with me and teaching this class in the store.

I got to use Copics to airbrush with, which was a first, as well as use Copic refill inks to stamp with (like Ranger Alcohol inks). We used some transparencies from Prima that you can color on with the Copics that turned out stunning. I know that I will be headed to the Prima booth tomorrow to place an order. For those of you wondering I already carry the Clear Scraps Albums in the store. This is one of those projects that you have to see in person to appreciate. I still have to finish mine. There is a title to be put on the front from chipboard but I haven't decided what photos I am going to use yet so I am waiting on that and I still have to put the last page together. I will post another pic when it is complete but I was so excited that I wanted to go ahead and post a little of it.

My next class was with Hero Arts. I enjoyed this class well as we used water coloring on our cards which is something I don't do ofen so this was a challenge. I had the priviledge of meeting Jennifer McGuire.She is the sweetest little thing. The team from Hero Arts did a great job. This is another booth that I am anxious to visit. I will post the pics from this class tomorrow, I have a few touch-ups to do. But here is a pic of me and Jennifer.

Guess who I saw..........that's right, just next door to my class was Tim Holtz. I was Tim's teacher's assistant 2 years ago at CKU in Nashville. I love his products and carry a large selection in the store. We are trying to get a class organized this month so be sure to check back ont he blog for more information. I am going by the booth tomorrow to order everything needed so it is just a matter of if it comes in in time for the class. We will keep our fingers crossed. This is a class you will not want to miss!

Larry's class was with Quick Qoutes for which again he picked up the kits that we will complete and post later. I saw the young lady that taught the class in the hall and she approached Larry and I and told be he was very attentive and took excellant notes, A+. I can't wait to rip open these kits and get to work. The completed ones I saw from some of the other retailers was awesome.

We had a short break for dinner and a little shopping. Since Larry had been such a goodd sport I took him by the Harley Davidson store here in Orlando and bought him a few goodies. We got some great t-shirts, sweat shirts, patches and a hat. We meet a wonderful young lady from Rome, Georgia who worked there..... hi Brittany. Thanks for the wonderful service and conversation.

After dinner, back to the convention center for two more workshops. Larry's was with SRM Stickers and Cosmo Cricket. They created a 2010 Calendar. Again, you know the drill, pics later.

My class was my absolute favorite so far! I went to a Flower Soft workshop. I had been thinking of getting this for the store after I saw Beth (babies, PTI forum) and Niki use it, now I KNOW I will. This was so easy to use, I was stunned. We made some amazing cards. I got to meet Susa, the inventor of Flower Soft as well as their TV demonstrator, Noreen. Mark from the Indiana distribution center and his wife were there, as well as, Rachel from customer service. These are some the kindest people I have met. I could listen to the beautiful accents of Susan and Noreen all day (from the UK). This product is amazing, I cannot wait to get my order in first thing in the morning. I have been assured it will ship immediately.

New Stuff and a Schedule......

Hey everyone......it has been a while since I stopped in and said hello. I am sorry for the sporadic posting, that just seems to be my life right now....full of good intentions and no time see them through. I have been soooooo busy at the store and at my full time job. We are short one employee at the dental office and have been since the third week in May. I, as well as a few others, have had to pick up the extra load and it has been exhausting. We have about 3 more weeks to go I think. The store has been busy. We've had a lot of classes this past month and had a tremendous turn out with loads of fun. I added a Youth and Teen class last month which was well attended and requested again. It always makes me feel good that people ask me at the end of class "when is our next one?". I have added the July schedule to the left of this post so be sure to check it out. There will not be any classes the last week of July as I will be attending CHA, YIPPEE ! I will still have Discount day on the last Saturday of the month however. Those not familiar with discount day should know when you come in on the last Saturday of the month upon check-out you get to draw for your discount off your total purchase, anywhere from 10-40% off. I am not one of those that puts 100 10% off tags and 2 40% off in the bucket either. There are EQUAL number of each discount. There has been a lot of traffic through the store from travelers and campers this month. I so enjoy getting to chat with everyone and find out where they are from and a little about their hometown. Thanks to everyone who stops in. I have a great "regular" crew that comes in as well that I appreciate and love, you're the best, thanks for your continued support.

I have had this product for a while but I don't think I ever posted it.... My Mind's Eye Breaking Free. I absolutely love this line for the summer. Several of the design team members have worked with this line and I suggest you check out their post. Here is one of my favorite from Tammi Bennett..

We have these BEAUTIFUL flowers in from Petaloo. They are Wild Rose from the Mulberry Street Collection. They are the closest thing to an actual pressed dried flower I have ever seen. They are $3.69 for a package of 6. Each flower is roughly 1 1/2 inches in diameter. Here are the colors available......

What have I done??????

Oh my, what have I done? I just got off the phone with Niki and was telling her I wanted to open the store, buy pretty stuff and pass along some good bargains to my wonderful friends. It was that simple in my head. Boy who was I kidding. There is so much "other" stuff that has to be done that I can't seem to ever catch up. I am sure working full time still has a lot to do with that. Don't get me wrong, I am not complaining because I would not change a thing, I love my store. I guess I am just trying to explain my absence and inconsistency in updating the blog. I have great intentions and sit and imagine all the projects and photos and the new merchandise and how I am going to lay it out in the blog and every thing looks so nice.......in my head! Getting the time to make it happen is my problem. I have some wonderful friends who help me out so much....Tammey, Wanda, Jordan, Kelsey, thank you....but there just doesn't seem to be enough time. I am one of those people that has a hard time letting someone else do something for me. I feel I have to have my hand in everything. I absolutely drive Tammey crazy when she puts merchandise up and I go behind her and move it, ever so slightly, but move it just the same. One of these days I just know that I am going to get my hand slapped. lol.

Before I go any further, I want to say a huge THANK YOU to my design team. You ladies are the BEST. I appreciate you putting up with me and my scatter brain. You do amazing work and I am so blessed to have you in my life and associated with my business. Now, speaking of business......

Did you notice that schedule over to the left, WOW. I am so busy planning for classes, preparing kits and samples and stressing over "are they gonna like it". Below is a class we just completed making a paper bag album. It was so much fun. I hope everyone will see the sample and want to sign up for another class. I thought it turned out so cute.

This is a baby line from Reminisce. The papers are all double sided and have a sheen. Suggested retail is $1.49 but at Precious Scraps it is only $ .99 per sheet. The stickers and embellishments are adorable. We also have the scrapbooks to match.....very cute.

This line is from Cookbookin'. Be sure to click on the photo to enlarge so you can get a good look. I absolutely love this stuff...the retro set, Mom's Diner is to die for. The other line is from Gooseberry patch. We have embellishments for both of these sets as well as some small flip books to decorate.

This line is from Heidi Grace. Stunning papers that are embossed, flocked, and plain, the plain (meaning not flocked or embossed) is double-sided. The chipboard alpha's could go with so many of your scrapbook pages or cards. The rub-on's and stickers are adorable.

This is our Armed Forces line, again from Reminisce. Wonderful double-sided papers. I will be shopping for a more expanded line when I attend CHA in July. We currently have a small selection of Army, Navy, Marines and Air Force.

This is our sports and activities section. We have Football, Basketball, Softball, Baseball, Soccer, Golf and Cheerleading. In the Activities section we have Dance, Hunting, Fishing, and Harley Davidson.

I know, I know, this is a long post.....but I have to show you one more thing. There has been so much discussion and use of the small crocheted flowers that I had a friend on mine, that can do EVERYTHING, make some for me. I will be having these available in the store for sale as well as they can be special ordered to your color selection. Here they are.....

Okay - I am officially overwhelmed now ! I am truly sorry for being "absent" so long. I am enormously busy these days....who knew how difficult this would be? Okay, I am sure many of you knew but I didn't. Super woman here, I thought it would be simple. I have been getting box after box of merchandise, been very sick, working full time at the dental office with several out sick or on vacation and preparing for classes. below is just a sneak peak at some of the merchandise received recently as well and the Sports and Bo Bunny sections being worked on.

These item have been put into inventory and priced and just waiting to be put up in the store.....when I rearrange again to make room. There is some new Cosmo Cricket (Early Bird, Girl Friday, and Happy Camper and some of the spinner cards; Basic Grey (some of the Lime Rickey and Wisteria has arrived; Cookbookin' (Gooseberry and Mom's Diner)...I must say I personally love the Mom's Diner products. We also received several boxes of Heidi Grace. I haven't unpacked these yet so I don't have a clear photo but here is a peek.....

We received the most adorable baby line from Reminisce as well as a Armed Forces Line. (Photos coming soon).

Oh, and let's not forget GLIMMER MIST is HERE ! Several of you have been waiting on this since National Scrapbook Day and it is finally arrived. We also received the large #10 Tags and the Tag Books. The tags with the ladies should be here by next Friday they tell me. The tags are from The American Tag Co. I am also expecting the antique bronze book rings that go so well with the vintage tags.

I have been so busy preparing for classes. We have a great line up for June. Everyone has been asking for summer classes so here you go. I added a Teen and Youth Class at your request so be sure to check out the schedule on the left hand side and call to reserve your spot.

Last but certainly not least.....be sure to check out the design teams blogs. They have been very busy with the recent boxes. Oh, and don't blame Niki for not posting because it is my fault, I haven't sent her her box yet. (Niki...it is coming your way on Monday).

So as I said, I am swamped at the store. Thanks for your patience. Oh, and thanks to all the customers who check the blog and stop by the store. The local support, and by local I mean if you are in driving distance, has been increadable. And, for all of you onlinr that order from me thank you as well. I appreciate you patience and your loyalty. I still have a lot to learn and a long way to go to get the store to the point that I want but with friends like all of you I know I will get there.

In closing...our community suffered a great loss over this on May 21st, two bothers were killed in an automobile accident and 2 young boys injured and well as a driver in another vehicle. One of the brothers was to graduate the following evening the other was a classmate of my son. This was a deep impact on our community and affected a lot of people. As I stood outside watching the funeral procession go by it brought back so many memories of loosing our own son Chad as well as an enormous feeling of gratitude that we still had Kyle. My greatest sympathy to this family and prayers for a speedy recovery to all others involved in this incident.

On a lighter note, my son, Kyle, turned 21 yesterday. Happy Birthday Kyle, I love you. And, my darling husband turned....... on Wednesday. Happy birthday to you. (Yes, I know you would be sooooo very upset had I posted you age...lol). I am thankful everyday for the blessing bestowed upon me and for the people in my life. I encourage each of you to take the time to appreciate those in your life and make sure they always know how much you love them.

Claire has dreamed of designing for another stamp company for quite some time now and it just hasn't happened so her dear husband to her designs that she had been submitting and had some sample sets made. These stamps are truly remarkable. Did you think I feel off the end of the earth? I am feeling much better and trying to catch up on everything while preparing for National Scrap Book Day all at the same time. I am truly sorry that I have been so absent but rather than bore you with the details, again I will just say a Steroid shot and a Prednisone pack and I am on the mend. I have so much to catch up on but will try not to keep you too long. I want to discuss National Scrap Book Day, Classes, New Merchandise and share a few photos of some recent projects so hand on.......

National Scrap Book Day -- if you have not made plans yet and are in the area I hope you will call and schedule to spend the day with us at Precious Scraps on Saturday, May 2nd. I can promise a day filled with fun and activities. We have a special guest coming from Jackson to share some projects as well as product samples. You WILL NOT want to miss this girl. She is sooooo talented, energetic and FUN to be around! Her enthusiasm is contagious. I think it will be fun to keep you guessing so I am not going to tell you who she is, you will just have to come and see. Some of the other activities scheduled are demonstrations with Tim Holt Alcohol Inks and Grungeboard, using BLING, and a glass etching class as well as lot's of make-n-takes. There will be CROP time schedule so be sure to bring some projects to work on. We will break for lunch and will be able to leave or feel free to bring lunch and make use of the frig and microwave. Snacks and drinks will be provided. Everyone will receive a gift bag as well as be eligible for special discounts and sales that day. There will be hourly drawings for prizes (you won't want to miss these there are some great gifts available). Hours are 10am - 8pm for a fee of $30. Spaces are limited so be sure to call the store to sign up.

CLASSES - If you have not participated in a class yet at Precious Scraps, what are you waiting for. You are missing out on so much fun. Be sure to check out the class schedule in the left hand column. This month we have some great classes listed by Bo Bunny and Basic Grey as well as many others. NEW Merchandise - I have been getting in some of the new merchandise recently and would love to tell you about just a few. First up is the Everlasting line from Cosmo Cricket. The colors in this line have to been my favorite so far and has the most beautiful chipboard accessories. Here are a few photos (prices are listed at the end)

Next up is Autumn Leaves Pretty Poppies line. I saw this line and immediately thought of Lisa Johnson (Lisa if you have not received any of this yet, I would love to send you some as a gift) I love Lisa's creations, she is such a talented young lady. The line is a very vibrant red, yellow-green and black line featuring poppies (of course) that look as if they are going to jump off the page. Some of the pages are embossed or glittered. I hope that you can see the detail in the photos below.

I tried to get a close up of the embossed and glittered portions of the paper. They are simply stunning up close.

Embossed and Glittered paper are $1.50 ea, other 12x12 paper is $.60 ea. Chipboard pack $5.99, 3-D Embellishments and Ribbon $3.99 ea.

Up next is some Bo Bunny that I recently received as well as a couple of projects showcasing the line. This line is called Grease Monkey. The papers are wonderful for a young boy, a grown man or even a fast driving young lady. You will see what I mean when you check out the photos of the paper.

This first project was created using the Grease Monkey line and a Piggy Tales Slider Book. I simply love working with these books they are so fun and have so much potential. We currently have the Slider Book, Drawbridge Book and Barn Door Books as well as the accessories. This book was created by Tammey Taylor a dear friend and local design team member. Tammy did an awesome job and has gone on to create a couple more books for gifts. I will have to ask here to let me share the baby boy book she created, irresistible is the word that comes to mind. But for now, here is the Grease Monkey book:

The only thing I added was the duck tape (yes, I said duck tape, and tire marks from my nephews toy tractor. I just felt these two elements were calling my name and Tammey was ever so gracious to let me add them. She WAS a little apprehensive when I told her I wanted to add duck tape) But she loved it after I took it home that night and added it and showed her the next morning. The next time she came it I had added the tire marks and we agreed that we make a great collaboration! I also added the spring on the front of the book with the sprog popping out. These are so much fun to play around with. Thanks Tammey for letting me put my two cents worth in.

Here is a wood frame I covered using the Bo Bunny Grease Monkey with me great-nephew Trent featured riding his 4-wheeler.

And finally, a project featuring the Penny Lane line from My Mind's Eye and my great-niece Brook. Isn't she adorable. She and Trent were out playing in a field of headed-out turnip greens for hours. When Trent walked up on the field he said it was a "Fairy Land of Marigolds", now that is a future scrapbook page. My sister took these photos in black and white but I felt I wanted to add a pop of color so I used my Copic markers to color the bunch of "flowers" that Brook was holding. I changed the color up to go with the the second frame project with some paper from Basic Grey.

Easter Page and a Wedding photo.....

First and foremost, my mom's wedding was on Saturday. I know many of you are probably sick of hearing me talk about this but just skip this part if so..... My dad passed away of cancer in Sept. of 2000. Since then my mom has been alone. She met Ron, her husband, at a dance that she had been attending with some of her older girlfriends who were also widowers. Anyway, true love blossomed and they dated over a year and finally tied the knot on the 4th. Both were glowing and you could feel the love in that little church. I am so happy for my mom and Ron to have a second chance at love and to be able to feel those voids in their lives and in their hearts. Here is an unaltered photo I took before the ceremony. When we get the professional photos I will post a few of those as well so you can see the bride and groom.

This is a page that Tammi did for an Easter Layout and offered to allow me to use it for a class. I absolutely love the page, the way she wove the ribbon through the scalloped edge of the Die Cut paper is unique.

This is my page. I had to change Tammi's to a 2-page layout for a class I am teaching on Thursday so this is the end result. Hope everyone likes it. It is from Making Memories Flower Patch line. It also incorporates Papertrey Inks New Leaf paper for photo backgrounds and the grass and egg die cut from Quikutz. The glitter paper used for the eggs is from DCWV.
