Cards, RAK's and some Thank You's

I have had the most incredible weekend. My husband and I went and marked the location of my new store, the future home of Precious Scraps. This was so exciting, now comes the hard part, coordinating contractors, supplies, labor, etc. I expect things to get very hectic over the next few months. I am still working full time at the dental office and managing to sell online thru the blog (until the online store site is completed) and sell from my home. I thought I had better take the time to "play" while I had the chance. I closed myself in my scrap room on Sunday and refused to come out until I had some projects completed. I truly enjoyed my day. If I could create all the time I would probably loose 100 pounds, I get so lost in my projects and the hours fly by without even thinking of stopping for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Everyday Blessings..............

I made 11 of these cards, one for a sample and 10 for gift boxes (5 in each box). The basic concept of the card is from Nichole Heady at Papertrey Ink from the release of the Everyday Blessings stamp set. I absolutely love this set, partly because it is just an awesome set and has so many wonderful verses and sentiments that can be used for so many different occasions, and because my dear friend Kelsey Forrester (kbeth2002) was the PTI apprentice on this set (I even had her autograph the cover), good job Kelsey.

Supplies: PaperTrey Ink supplies include: Aqua Mist, Dark Chocolate and Vintage Cream Cardstock. Other supplies: Diamond Glaze, Copic Markers, Palette Ink (Burnt Umber) and Ribbon (Walmart).

I also made another set of 11 cards using different colors and techniques that I will show later. I am loving the Copic Markers. I am starting off small with simple images and trying to work my way up to more detailed work.

Thank You Cards, Gifts and a RAK............

I received this card and gift from my dear friend Katie (kate2kate). She makes the most spectacular chain bracelets I have ever seen. The detail is amazing. I had helped Katie with a quick project she had and she sent me this thank you in return, which was completely unnecessary but Thank you Katie. Katie's struggle and attitude with pain management is inspirational, she has become a dear friend of mine.

I received this RAK (random act of kindness) a while back and, to be honest, have been carrying it around in my purse to show off and failed to put it on my blog (sorry Heather). This is from a fellow PTI "family" member, Heather (hmj). I love the colors and style of this card. My photography is not all that great so I am sure you cannot see all the detail in the card. The green flower has a glitter enhanced center and the flower has tiny "stitched" holes around the petals on the blue cardstock, simply stunning !

I received this beautiful card and gift from Kacey. This card is so gorgeous. I love the way she distressed the edges of the cardstock containing her sentiment and the color combination is spectacular. I also love the wonderful inspiration magnet she made, I keep it directly above my work area. The colors are off in the photo and I am not sure you can read the sentiment, again my lack of photography skills. The sentiment read: CREATIVITY is allowing oneself to make mistakes. ART is knowing which ones to keep. Scott Adams (note: I just popped over to Kasey's blog to get the link and noticed she had posted this on hers, how funny. Anyway, she has a better photograph so you can check it out there for a better view)

I will be posting prices on the My Mind's Eye and Theresa Collins papers below this evening. I will also be announcing this week the arrival of the new Basic Grey Papers and a few other surprises. I will also announce new Blog Candy on Wednesday so be sure to check back. It is going to be a spectacular week at Precious Scraps. As always, thank you for stopping by, have a fantastic week !

Beverly, your card is beautiful. I love the detail you added with the diamond glaze as well. You should be proud of your creations and keep 'em coming (when you have time between everything else that's going on right now-LOL)!
