My Productive Weekend

A Scrap Happy Day

This is a scrapbook page I completed on Saturday, National Scrapbook Day. It shows my husband and his dad when the used to go hunting together. His dad passed away several years ago so this really meant a lot to him. They had hunting dogs that favor the dogs on the patterned paper which is what drew me to this paper, their favorite was named Kate. Below is a close up of the quote.

God's Grace

On Sunday morning I woke up early and went to make coffee. As I stood at the kitchen window and looked out I was instantly reminded of God's grace and beauty. Right out my back door I could see his handy work as I stood watching and listening. The beautiful choir of the birds singing and the harmony of all creatures being together without conflict was like having Church at my kitchen window. I hope you enjoy these photos from my window................

Gobbler and a hen

Gobbler and Squirrel

Blue Bird (we have 5 bird houses filled with eggs )

Baby Indigo Finches

Yellow Finch on the Humming Bird Feeder

Red Bird

Indigo Finch

Blue Bird and 2 Turtle Doves (I love the sound of the Doves)

all of this............from my kitchen window

An Award

I am so honored that a friend of mine, Erica, graciously bestowed me with my very first blog award. The Arte y Pico award. Which means Art and More. The idea is to pick 5 other bloggers who are creative and contribute to the blogging community. I am new to the blogging community but enjoy visiting everyone's blogs and getting to know them and their work. Here are a few blogs that I enjoy checking in on:

Judith Novak
Shannan Teubnor
Dawn McVey
Michelle Wooderson
Lisa Stenz

All of these ladies are very talented and have so much to offer on their blogs. Go check out their blogs and say Hi! You are sure to find loads of inspiration! There are so many blogs that I visit so it was very difficult to choose just 5. I love to visit a blog and from their blog list visit some of their favorites. Take you time and check out these blogs and many more. Thank you again, Erica for this honor.

April Updates

First let me begin by saying Thank you for the beautiful cards from my RAK group at PaperTrey Ink.

The first one is from Gail (Gail in Florida),

next is Kelsey (Kbeth),

then Niki

and last but not least is from Lynn (Lynn in St. Louis).

These cards are wonderful ladies, the time you took to make such a exceptional gift and the personal notes are greatly appreciated.

Secondly - I am fine. I have had my eyes re-checked after the accident (see below if you don't know what in the world I am talking about) and they are fine. No retina tears or damage at all. I am so blessed that I escaped without permanent damage to something other than my ego. My black eyes have almost cleared up but still a small trace of purple left behind. My husband is finally starting to go out in public with me again. I greatly appreciate all the well wishes and prayers during my recovery period.

Third - I actually have been busy in my scrap room. I have made several cards and a few altered items. I also completed an order for 40 Thank you cards for a baby shower for a good friend of mine (Congratulations Farrah and Bobby and new baby Coley Jean). I am including photos of one of the cards that I created after "stealing" the concept from Stampinscotgirl on the Papertrey gallery.

I changed the colors using the first papertrey color match release.

The altered items I am showing are frames I made for my sisters for their birthday using My Minds Eye PP and PaperTrey Ink ribbon. The saying in the middle reads "We cannot Measure the impact that one small gesture of kindness may make on another's life". I also included a quote from Jacqueline Kehoe; "A sister is a permanent best friend"

Have a GREAT day folks, I am off today to St. Louis to the Creating Keepsakes Convention. I'll be sure to check in on Monday to show you everything I make it home with. I am thankful I drive a BIG SUV !!

Oops !

Day 1 (Check out that knot) Day 2 Ain't she pretty

Day 3 there goes the other eye, Day 4 things are just gettin' prettier !

The story goes like this: I feel last Thurday when I went outside and stepped on a concrete walk that was covered in ice. I had no idea that it had got that cold the night before. Anyway, my feet went out from under me and I feel head, or should I say face, first on the concrete. I had to go to the ER because I immediately got a huge (orange size) knot over my left eye and I could not open it. I had a mild concussion, a probable hairline fracture on my left brow line but that is it. I have to go to the eye Dr. tomorrow to have the pressure checked and to check for fluid leaking behind my eye , etc. Anyway, thanks to this little accident I haven't been able to be on the computer very much and I certainly haven't been able to scrap any. I am sooooooo board and looking forward to getting back in my scrap room this weekend.
